When you receive these LED candles, each is wrapped in a plastic covering. The sticker on the bottom of the candles can be removed to access the battery compartment. The batteries are shrink wrapped in plastic. The plastic must be removed before engaging the battery. The candles have a built-in timer. When turned on, the candle will be lit for 5 hours and then turn off automatically for 19 hours. 

Each Candle uses 3 AA Batteries (Included). Battery Life: Approximately 100 hours. 

NOTE:  As this candle is made of real wax, it can be susceptible to damage from heat.
